TINAPEG is the brand name of pegfilgrastim, an option for long-term G-CSF therapy. To produce TINAPEG, a 20-kilodalton monomethoxypolyethylene glycol molecule is covalently attached to the methionyl residue at the N-terminal of the filgrastim protein, which consists of 175 amino acids and has a molecular weight of approximately 19,000 daltons. It is supplied in prefilled single-us.
Indications
Tinapeg is used to reduce the risk of infection (febrile neutropenia) in patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy that suppress bone marrow, who are at high risk of developing febrile neutropenia.
Contraindications
Tinapeg should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to pegfilgrastim, filgrastim, or any other components of the formulation. Additionally, some diseases and medications may interact with pegfilgrastim, so inform your doctor accordingly.
Adverse Effects
Like any medication, Tinapeg may cause some unwanted side effects alongside its therapeutic effects. However, not all side effects occur in every individual.
Consult your pharmacist or physician if you experience any of the following: bone pain, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, diarrhea, hair loss, nausea, or vomiting.
Storage Conditions
- The medication should be stored in a refrigerator at 2 to 8°C and protected from freezing.
- If frozen, the medication can be thawed only once by placing it in the refrigerator before use.
- If the medication has been frozen more than once, it should be discarded.
- Store the medication in its original box, away from light, and avoid shaking it.
- Do not use the medication if it has been left at room temperature for more than 48 hours.
- Never use expired medication. Do not use the product if you notice any change in color, particles, or cloudiness.
- Keep out of reach of children in a secure place.
